dc.description.abstractImage based modeling (IBM) combines aspects of computer vision, graphics and interface design. Practitioners in each field have approached IBM within the context of their own discipline, but recently systems have emerged that harness the strengths of each. In this article we discuss approaches to IBM, the development of our own system VideoTrace, and applications now and in the future.
