Abstract

This research will utilise three theoretical frameworks to investigate the crucible experiences of women in political leadership in Kenya. Social role theory will be used to identify the impact of gender roles and societal norms on the experiences of Kenyan female political leaders. African feminism will be employed as a lens through which to interpret the data collected from Kenyan female political leaders. Feminist political theory is employed, to examine the reason for male domination of political leadership in Kenya.
