Abstract
This thesis sought to further understand the role of the physicochemical properties of solutes in percutaneous and transdermal absorption; to characterise the impact of the morphology of normal skin (as well as that of the most serious of skin cancers, melanoma) on this absorption; and to explore whether microemulsions formulations may lead to an enhanced absorption of key theranostic agents.
