Abstract

A facile template-free solution method combined with a post annealing treatment is successfully developed to grow interconnected SnO₂ nanosheets on various conductive substrates. Moreover, a second layer of SnO₂ nanosheets can be grown on top of the first layer by simply repeating the procedure. When tested as integrated binder-free electrodes for lithium-ion batteries (LIBs), the electrodes deliver reasonably high specific capacity, excellent cycling stability and good rate capability.
