Abstract

In majority world and Indigenous contexts, contemporary issues of politicaleconomy and relations of power combine with the continuing effects ofpast colonial violence and racial domination, to raise complex ethical and epistemological concerns. The complicity of human service professionals, including social workers and psychologists, in implementing oppressive policies, such as the removal of Indigenous children from their families and communities, has been comparatively well documented (see, for example, Briskman, 2007; Gray, Coates and Yellow Bird, 2008; Walter, Taylor and Habibis, 2011).
