| dc.description.abstract | The overarching aim of this thesis is to identify the barriers and enablers associated with intervention strategy implementation, and to examine how behavioural antecedents and reinforcing factors, as defined by the constructs of three classic health behaviour theories, operate to control personal health action and participatory behaviours influencing cardiometabolic risk. The intervention strategies are designed to change antecedents of health-related behaviour, in a remotely located, predominantly male, mining and steelmaking organisation, that is located in a community previously determined to be at-risk for the development of type 2 diabetes. | |
