dc.description.abstract | The work presented in this thesis was conducted with the broad aim of identifying SSR markers linked to important barley breeding traits, ultimately improving the efficiency of the applications of marker assisted selection (MAS) in barley breeding. The research identifies 70 SSR markers linking within 10 cM of 18 loci controlling 16 important barley traits with one to ten SSR markers identified per trait locus. | en |
