Abstract

The attachment efficiency between quartz particles of known contact angle and air bubbles of 0.75, 1.2 and 2.0 mm diameter has been determined for the first time as a function of particle size, contact angle and ionic strength. The results are interpreted in terms of thin film drainage effects and bubble spreading kinetics.
