Abstract

Virtual Computer-Integrated Manufacturing (VCIM) is a new manufacturing system, developed to help small and medium-size enterprises survive and thrive in today’s competitive global market. VCIM systems are still, conceptually, being developed. In this chapter, the latest developments in VCIM systems are presented. There are two important developments in the systems, i.e. VCIM production scheduling model and VCIM production scheduling optimization approach. Current progress in the scheduling model as well as the optimization approach is presented herein.
