Abstract

Augmented reality systems facilitate a virtual interaction with a user’s physical environment, and spatial augmented reality is a subset of augmented reality employing projectors as the display technology. This human-computer interaction delves into the psychology of how people engage with such an immersive technology. This paper explores some of the relevant concepts in psychology that can aid the improvement of spatial augmented reality technology. This multidisciplinary approach should be for mutual benefit, with findings in augmented reality research furthering the understanding of how people interact with this technology.
