Abstract

The researcher conducted a comprehensive review of academic literature on Internet of Things (IoT) characteristics, IoT data management challenges, existing generic data governance frameworks, and success factors associated with data governance. The result was used to establish an IoT data governance framework (IoTDGF). This framework is designed to assist organisations in enhancing IoT data governance and management. A Delphi study was used to engage experts from both industry and academia. Finally, interviews were conducted with industrial experts to validate the IoTDGF framework's adoptability and usability. The novel contribution of this research is the creation of IoTDGF framework. This framework enables organisations to revolutionise their approach to IoT data governance, gaining greater control over IoT data and unlocking new insights for innovation, growth, and success.
