Abstract
This study aims to study the characteristics of two different tour modes for pleasure travel, and tourists? behavior with respect to these two tour modes. This study has found some significant differences between group package tour travelers and free independent tour travelers on their travel characteristics, demographics and psychological characteristics. A theoretical model has been developed in this study to analyze pleasure travelers? behavior. The result indicated that most differences between these two groups of tourist are the factors determining tourists' choice of tour mode for pleasure travel.
