Abstract

This research examines the effect of agility and resilience on sustainability in manufacturing supply chains in Australia. Such an examination is timely for the manufacturing sector because agility, resilience and sustainability have been accorded high priority in government agendas. This study aims to understand the agile and resilient characteristics and sustainability practices in supply chains of Australian manufacturing firms. Underpinned by the dynamic capability view and social capital theory, a framework is developed to explain how these capabilities influence the diffusion of sustainability (namely social, environmental and economic) practices along the supply chain.
