Abstract

School-based religious education in South Australia is required to comply with current government curriculum frameworks as well as Church teachings and practices. This raises questions as to the nature of religious education as a school subject, reviewed in Chapter 2. The present study addresses one such question, namely in what ways the contexts of school-based education function as source of meaning making for teachers and students within a particular unit of work.
