Abstract

Theories on organisational identity (OI) and organisational identification (OID) have been widely studied. Most works focused on the antecedents and outcomes of OID rather than the processes leading to OID. The current research fills this knowledge gap by crafting an effective strategy for OID. This study investigated the people and processes involved in OID, identifying the stakeholders and their respective roles and the communication processes. The research clarified key variables such as ‘organisation and individual’, and ‘sensebreaking, sensegiving and sensemaking’, making the process model practically applicable for other organisations undergo a similar OID process.
