Abstract
Physical activity (PA) is crucial for health, whether for individuals living independently in the community to those experiencing a hospitalisation. Wearable activity trackers (WATs) have the potential to revolutionise how PA is promoted in healthcare, yet their integration into routine care presents significant challenges. This thesis aims to advance the evidence base for clinical WAT use, by developing and evaluating a coordinated approach for their use in healthcare.
