Abstract
IT infrastructure and IT resource management are significant areas which make IT governance effective. These aspects of IT offer a high potential for organizing management mechanisms and as a result, elevating the organization to a higher level of efficiency. Furthermore, they have been viewed as a basic success factor for any organization to support its organizational objectives and gain a competitive advantage. Organizations that plan to implement IT governance frameworks encounter complexity when they are in the process of selecting the most appropriate one. Management must choose a framework which suits the nature of their businesses from a variety of similar frameworks that may have dissimilar scopes and objectives. Therefore, it is a burden for top management to solve various dilemmas and focus on future projects to develop their IT infrastructure and IT resource management. They do this by aligning their business and IT requirements with appropriate IT governance frameworks. As a result, the outcomes can be wide-ranging depending upon the different IT governance frameworks that are chosen. The literature shows that various organizations have selected different suites of IT governance frameworks. The corpus shows that an awareness of IT infrastructure and IT resource management leads to robust IT governance if these measures are implemented effectively. This paper studies the aspects which make IT governance frameworks run flawlessly. It draws on the literature in the areas of IT infrastructure, IT resource management, people skills, new technologies, and IT governance itself in order to provide a better understanding of IT governance. This also ensures that the frameworks are user friendly.
