Abstract
A proximal point method applied to the variational inequality problem in reflexive Banach spaces was studied. The well-definedness and weak convergence of the generalized proximal point method was proved. The original definition of Bregman functions for finite dimensional spaces extended to a more general framework was used for the analysis.
