Abstract
Flexibility is an intrinsic property present in any learning environment. When capturing the structure of a learning experience with conventional languages such as Learning Design, this flexibility can be seriously compromised. In this document two mechanisms are proposed to avoid this pitfall. On one hand, flexibility needs to be considered from the early stages of the design phase. Editors need to include default constructions to easily accommodate changes. On the other hand, run-time environments need to offer the possibility of changing most of the execution parameters with an intuitive interface available to the teaching staff. © 2008 IEEE.
