Abstract
An approach to integrating the relationships between disease, drugs and intrinsic patient factors is to utilise pharmacometric analyses that combine pharmacokinetic, pharmacodynamic and disease progression models. The aim of this thesis was to explore and establish the role pharmacometric analyses have in understanding a patient’s past, current and future time-course of disease to guide optimisation of drug therapy, and to develop tools that aid clinicians in their decision-making processes.
