Abstract

This investigation of the social return on investment (SROI) of vehicle modifications was funded by the Lifetime Support Authority as part of their research, education and programs agenda. A return to driving is often an important goal for people with acquired disabilities. Furthermore, given the increase in high technology vehicle modifications solutions, some people with lifelong disabilities - who had previously no expectation of becoming a driver - are now able to drive for the first time. Vehicle modifications generate a wide range of positive outcomes that are meaningful for people with disability and greatly contribute to the quality of their lives, and well as the opportunities they have access to in Australian society.
