Abstract

In this thesis the concept of games with incompetence is developed. The development is motivated by the need to better analyse military problems where the capabilities of players change due to training, the purchase of equipment or for other reasons. Games with incompetence more accurately and efficiently represent situations where one or more players in a game are able to change their level of skill, or otherwise increase their capability. This will generally be referred to as incompetence and might be improved through training in games outside the military domain, such as tennis.
