Abstract
Transnational labor movements unite workers across national borders. They include trade unions, political parties, and NGOs. Transnational labor movements can be sites for women to struggle for economic justice for themselves and their communities. However, much depends on the persistent efforts of feminist and union activists who work in and through unions to bring women together to build new forms of transnational labor solidarity. International labor bodies such as the ILO, GUFs, and the ITUC have slowly committed to focus on gendered issues in their campaigns and political agendas. Without the material resources, networks, and discourses of transnational labor movements and their unions, women workers everywhere have little opportunity to fight for their interests and conditions.
