Abstract

This institutional ethnography, beginning from the author?s experiences, explores mothering and warring in the Canadian military. It argues that military ruling relations perpetuate prevailing norms of military membership, gender, and family to create a dominant narrative that works to discipline the beliefs and actions of military members and their families.
