Abstract
The Virginia Pipeline Scheme in Adelaide is one of the largest high quality water recycling schemes in the world and the first of its type in Australia. This paper focuses on this scheme and illustrates the role of community participation and partnerships in successful implementation of the scheme. It also looks at the role of the initial developers and the factors, which created this public partnership, and the current perceptions of the present day users of the scheme.
