Abstract
This chapter outlines several developmental trends in the field study of international human resource management (IHRM). It provides a working definition and dimensions of IHRM policies and practices within an internationally operating corporation, which help capture the overarching themes contained in this edited volume. Integrating the discussion of development trends and practices, main concerns and future directions for IHRM research and practice within multinational firms as well as across nations are raised. The chapter concludes with a brief introduction of main contents of each contributed chapter in the collection.
