Abstract
Media technologies are recognized to be teaching and learning tools of increasing importance in this information era. They are especially beneficial to language education, which has to cater for the needs and concerns of the full-time and part-time learners in diverse communication settings. To help promoting language learning in Hong Kong and in the wider regions, it is of the utmost importance to investigate the factors that facilitate the implementation of media technologies in language education and that enhance the quality of the learning process. This study presents a newly revised model for integrating technology into pre-service teacher education in the Department of English and Communication, City University of Hong Kong. The model received excellent ratings and feedback from student teachers in the Department. The paper also investigates the perception and attitudes of some student teachers on learning and using media technologies for language teaching and learning purposes.
