Abstract

The Diffusive Gradients in Thin-Films (DGT) technique can be used to visualise the high-resolution distribution of nutrient availability in field conditions. This manual outlines the deployment of a large field DGT assembly (fDGT, 105 X 75 mm) for assessing the potential bioavailability of phosphorus under field conditions. This manual provides practical and detailed information on aspects to be considered when deploying these devices and the essential steps for their deployment, retrieval and subsequent sample processing and analysis of the element of interest. Although the manual is not a standard protocol, its intention is to promote a common practice when deploying DGT devices in the field.
