Abstract
The primary goal of this thesis is to investigate information privacy attitudes and behaviours in online social networking (OSN). Diversity in perception, evaluation and protection of information privacy necessitates enhanced multidisciplinary research that utilises knowledge beyond a single discipline; it is unlikely that a discipline-specific approach would be particularly effective in explaining how OSN users perceive and protect their privacy. This thesis, therefore, examines information privacy through an interdisciplinary theoretical lens. Both qualitative and quantitative research methods and a variety of statistical techniques are used.
