Abstract
Technology is increasingly influencing and impacting on teaching, learning and educational settings in general, and is further requiring school communities, in particular leaders, to juggle and address competing demands and priorities. Given the unprecedented rate in which technology continues to advance, school communities are also required to engage more frequently in change processes as part of implementing ICT related initiatives. Subsequently, this thesis examines key concepts across the three identified focus areas of formal school leadership; change management and ICT related integration factors in school contexts. A particular goal of this research was to develop a survey instrument to identify and measure critical aspects related to change, leadership and ICT integration. A further aim was to develop models that identify predictive relevance of factors and highlight predictive relationships between identified constructs in ICT integration and reform contexts. Furthermore, factors that facilitate engagement in ICT related reform processes were also investigated.
