Abstract
In her recent intervention, Not for profit: Why democracy needs the humanities, Martha Nussbaum signalled that there is currently a world-wide crisis in education. This crisis is a result of the demand for national profit and the inability of education systems globally to inculcate skills that are vital to the effective functioning of democracies.
