Abstract
In this thesis, the author developed facile approaches to prepare rubber nanocomposites containing a new class of nanomaterial, MXene. The flexible and stretchable nanocomposites are not only devoid of the notorious filler aggregation usually observed in nanocomposites, but also exhibit high electrical and thermal conductivity, mechanical robustness and remarkable electromagnetic interference shielding properties. Thus, the new findings could pave the way toward production of stretchable and flexible multifunctional polymer/MXene nanocomposites for myriad applications.
