Abstract
Cultural diversity, and its potential to unite or divide conmunities, baecame a professional concern for me whrn I joined a Catholic secondary school in Australia as an English language teacher in 2000. Thi, a year 8 student of Vietnamese cultural heritage, was the specific catalyst for this research, in which I investigate support structures for students of culturally diverse heritage in one secondary school.
