Abstract
The study aimed to understand the impact of varying water quality and deficit irrigation (DI) on greenhouse-grown tomatoes. This has been the first investigation that considered soil-water-plant relationship and economic analysis in relation to DI and water quality on greenhouse tomatoes. Two years of data collected from the pot-based experimental study with three water types and four DI levels supported recycled wastewater is the most favourable option. Based on most of the assessment criteria, the soil moisture level at 80% field capacity is the most water-efficient and optimum DI strategy for tomatoes cultivated in greenhouses.
