Abstract

This research project is based on the premise that a critical reflective approach is integral to the development of a socially and ethically inclusive framework for visual communication design (VCD) education in Pakistan. Lying within contemporary VCD design education parameters, the research seeks to address the field’s absence of scholarly research with a South Asian perspective. The research interrogates the historical, social and cultural influences that impact VCD learners’ identities, prior knowledge and lived experiences.
